Qualifications


Required

  • Must be currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university or college
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident

Preferred

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Intermediate skill level using the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Prior relevant internship or work experience, lab research, team projects

Is there a citizenship requirement?

YES, Interns must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Learn more about ITAR here.

Do you have any tips on applying?

Resume:

In addition to your contact information, we encourage all applicants to include the following on their resume.

  • University name, degree and major(s), cumulative GPA, and projected graduation date
  • All prior relevant internships/co-ops or jobs
  • Relevant project team involvement and role on the team

Cover Letter:

Here are a few ideas for topics to discuss in your cover letter that may set you apart from other candidates.

What is involved in the interview process?

If selected, you will be interviewed on a video call via Microsoft Teams. The interview will last approximately 30 minutes. During the interview, we will ask you to discuss your prior internship/ project experience listed on your resume, we may ask a few technical questions, and will answer any questions or concerns you may have.

You should hear from us 1-3 weeks after the interview with a final decision. If waiting to hear back from us after the interview and you have to respond to another offer, please let us know so that we can try to get back to you sooner.

What projects would I be working on?

Every opportunity is different, and projects change between semesters based on business needs. Interns support internal and external projects that assist us delivering the final product to our customers and expanding our capabilities. SpaceWorks offers real work and integrates interns into the company like a full-time hire.

Is your internship open to undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students?

Anyone pursuing a degree of higher education is encouraged to apply.

Can I receive course credit for an Internship with SpaceWorks?

Internships can be used to satisfy course credit at the discretion of your university. We will be pleased to confirm the dates of your employment and provide a brief overview of the internship.

Please note as an intern you may work on proprietary, sensitive, and/or ITAR controlled projects; as such this information may not be shared external to SpaceWorks through presentations, reports, or papers.

Are there any opportunities for high school students?

Not at this time. We have had a program for high school students over the summer in the past called ASTRO and it is something we will potentially be bringing back in the future.
